Are you someone who loves the idea of developing a community group with an interest in gardening and sustainability? Or a current community group looking for a place to get together?

Background:

Our fantastic edible garden was set up in 2021 on the site of the Warralily Land Sales Office, near the corner of Surfcoast Highway and Warralily Boulevard. The garden is well maintained, thanks to weekly gardening sessions run by the current committee.

We are looking for a new committee to take on the management of the garden.

Our AGM is on the 11th December at 7pm. The current committee, consisting of a secretary, treasurer and 2-3 members will happily assist the incoming committee with a handover during the transition process.

Who would this suit?

The garden could be taken on by an already established group such as a playgroup, NDIS group, Probus or U3A, or other community group. Or individuals who would love to develop a new garden club.

Features of our Garden:

  • 11 Foodcube Wicking Garden Beds

  • A Greenhouse

  • Propagation Bench

  • A Community Food Station

  • Composting System

  • Worm Farm

  • Children's Playground

  • Pots and other garden beds

  • Tools

  • Access to Tea and Coffee at the Lands sales office.

  • Good access for all abilities and car parking.

  • We also have a functional website and Facebook group.

What do you need to run this garden??

Enthusiasm, ability to foster community connections, a small committee, and funds of approximately $500 per year. The current committee has been raising funds via involvement in the local Piccadilly Market and successful community grant applications.
